David W Fineman
Mr. Fineman was born and raised in Southwest Florida and is a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University (B.S. Legal Studies and Criminal Justice). In 2007, Mr. Fineman obtained his Juris Doctorate from Barry University School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Fineman served as a Certified Legal Intern for the State Attorney’s Office of the Ninth Judicial Circuit which allowed him to prosecute several criminal cases for the State of Florida. Mr. Fineman was a Senior Note and Comment Editor on Barry University’s Law Review and graduated second in his class. Mr. Fineman was invited to be a speaker at the Fifth District Court of Appeals Induction Ceremony as a result of achieving one of the top scores on the Florida Bar 2007 summer exam. Mr. Fineman is licensed to practice in all state courts in Florida and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Mr. Fineman began practicing law in Punta Gorda, Florida in 2007. Since becoming licensed, Mr. Fineman has worked in various areas of law including criminal law, personal injury, land use, construction law, real estate law, landlord/tenant law, judgment enforcement and association law. However, Mr. Fineman focused his practice around consumer protection, foreclosure defense, and bankruptcy. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Fineman served the community as a law enforcement officer. Mr. Fineman served as a deputy for the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office and a police officer for the Punta Gorda Police Department as both an auxiliary and full-time member for a combined 10 years of service. Mr. Fineman brings this law enforcement experience to his practice and uses it in representing clients on criminal matters. Mr. Fineman is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the American Bar Association, the Charlotte County Bar Association, and the Charlotte and Lee County Young Professionals.
