In 1997, I started my legal carrier with the Florida Department of Insurance in Tallahassee, Fl. where I represented the state against unscrupulous insurers, agents, and warranty companies. However, with student loan debt piling up, It was no longer economically feasible for me to continue to work for the state. I relocated to Orlando, Fl. in 1998 and began working as an insurance defense lawyer for Moore & Peterson. There, I defended insurance companies, the government, and large corporations from the claims of injured people. I decided that I no longer wished to represent insurance companies and big corporations but rather, assist real people with their claims against insurers and big business. I joined Jeffrey M. Byrd, P.A. where 100% of my practice was devoted to aggressively pursuing our client’s interests against these companies. In 2005, I started Esquire Legal Group, P.A. where I continued to represent injured people. In January 1996, I changed the name to Maaswinkel Law, P.A. The law practice has grown and now includes 3 attorneys. The law firm still represents people involved in accidents. injuries, and insurance disputes.
